Studio 21c Camera and Lighting Class

Prerequisite: Studio Orientation class. Basic introduction to the studio cameras and lights. Completion of course will allow you access to studio equipment and camera check-out. Course lasts approximately 3 hrs. Patrons 9-13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Intro to Sound Mixers and Recording with the Presonus Board

When: Monday, January 23, 2017 - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Where: Library21c Special Rooms-1175 Chapel Hills Drive at The Studio

Explore the basic functions of both analog and digital sound mixers with specific emphasis on Studio 21cs' PreSonus 16 channel digital mixer. Course will also provide a quick demo of mixing through the PreSonus board and capturing content into ProTools.

Podcasting 101

When: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 - 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Join us in Studio 21c for a hands-on introduction to the world of podcasting. We'll cover the basics from setting up for recording, editing what you've captured, and finding a place to publish your finished show.

Introduction to Audio Recording

When: Tuesday, January 31, 2017 - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Library21c Special Rooms-1175 Chapel Hills Drive at The Studio

This course will provide a basic understanding of sound, audio signal flow, microphones, audio mixers (analog & digital) and sound system setup. Patrons will explore the components of a mixing console and how to use them to create a quality mix. The class will setup a monitor and loudspeaker, learning how to get signal to both and avoid feedback, and will discuss tips and tricks to crafting a solid live sound mix.

This Orientation course guides patrons through studio policies and procedures while serving as the first step toward using the facility for independent projects. After taking this course, patrons are also eligible to register for a variety of classes to learn audio and video skills.

For those new to video editing, this introductory editing class will get you up and running with Adobe Premiere CC. We will cover a range of topics from navigating the interface, importing assets, working with sequences and timelines, applying titles and effects, and exporting your finished edit.
