55+ Beginning Computer Class Series

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

Meeting for 2 class sessions, students will learn to hold, move, and click a computer mouse. They will become familiar with the different cursor icons, the parts of a computer, practice simple navigation in a windows environment, and learn how to enter information using the keyboard. This is a class for people who have never used a computer. Patron will be signing up for both classes.

Tai Chi

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Carnegie Reading Room

Learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi in this free, hour long class. Students will learn the basics of posture, strength, relaxation, movement and breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

GED / HiSET / TASC classes

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Pine Room

This class will help adults without a high school diploma prepare to take the GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency exams. Registration is required. Device/Computer Help Drop-in Lab

When: Friday, September 30, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Bay Area

For patrons with specific trouble shooting needs or help beyond the materials covered in other library computer classes. If the user just needs beginner instruction, sign them up for computer basics, internet basics, word, etc. Remind the patron to bring their device to the appointment if possible.

Minding Your Business

Learn how to research starting or growing a business or how to find a job in Minding Your Business. This class covers print sources, electronic databases and websites to help find information on industry, competition, vendors, financials, and more

Upcycling

Turning something old into in something practical and new. Make a lunch bag out of an old pair of jeans. Bring an old pair of jeans that you no longer use. (There is a limited number of jeans will be provided)
