Specialist 2, Special Collections (282530004) - Full-time, Non-exempt - Penrose Library

It is the mission of the Pikes Peak Library District: to seek, engage and transform lives through library services and resources that enrich individual lives and build community.

This position operates in a diverse environment to help fulfill the mission of the Library by providing services and access to regional history and genealogy materials (including books, maps, newspapers, government documents, photos, microforms, manuscripts, electronic resources, etc.). This position indexes local newspapers and documents, creates descriptive metadata for books, maps, pamphlets, manuscripts, photographs, oral histories and other Special Collections materials, and makes these resources widely available to the public via online databases.

Looking for cutting edge work in the Library field? As Specialist 2 you will provide reference services for regional history and genealogy materials. You will also have the opportunity to help expand content for PPLD online resources and collections by digitizing materials, by working with born-digital collections, by creating descriptive records and indexes, and by helping determine the future of PPLD Special Collections’ online presence.
