Seeking a collaborative, passionate and creative professional to join the Children’s Services Department. This position operates in a diverse environment to help fulfill PPLD’s mission by providing children’s programming, children’s reference, readers’ advisory services and a focus on training Every Child Ready to Read. This position uses comprehensive knowledge of library science, the PPLD children’s collection, electronic databases, current technologies, and community resources.

The role of this Associate Director is to provide strategic leadership in planning, organizing, managing and directing the operation, services and activities of the community libraries, public outreach and mobile services to achieve PPLD’s Mission: Providing resources and opportunities that change individual lives and build community. Seek, Engage, Transform. As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Associated Director assists the Executive Director in the administration and operations of Pikes Peak Library District.

We are looking for a dynamic, team-oriented and innovative leader committed to providing a new century of library service. The Associate Director is dedicated to meeting the needs of our diverse community by delivering a combination of innovative and traditional library programs and services.

The Associate Director is a key supporter of our vision to propel our libraries to the center of community life as places where content is created and shared and where books and other resources are linked with programs and activities. In continuing to honor basic library tenants: providing access to information and resources, the Associate Director will also support our commitment to provide exactly what the patrons need in the format they desire, at the very moment it will benefit them the most - speed sourcing for the 21st Century.
