PPLD Employment FAQ

PPLD is an e-verify employer and an Equal Opportunity Employer.

How do I find out if PPLD is hiring?

You can find PPLD's job announcements at:

  • PPLD’s website
  • On occasion: local public service agencies, The Gazette and other area newspapers; professional and managerial positions (often advertised in professional journals, out-of-town newspapers, and library-related websites)

Where can I turn in my completed job application?

Online applications and uploaded materials are accepted at PPLD.org on the Applications tab. Paper applications are NO longer accepted.

What is your closing date policy?

Applications must be received by the closing date. Immediately following the closing date, qualified applications are sent to the hiring manager. In instances where a position’s closing date is listed as "open until filled," qualified applications are sent to the hiring manager approximately every two weeks.

How can I tell the status of a job for which I've applied?

Candidates that are interviewed and not selected for a position will be notified by phone. Candidates not selected for an interview will be notified by email.

Why do I lose my information on the application when I click, “Upload Application Materials”?

Your internet connection has experienced a break in service. By clicking on the “Upload” button, you are refreshing the page. It is recommended that you utilize a computer with a high speed internet connection. PPLD provides computers dedicated to applicants at Penrose and East libraries.

Can I save my application and complete it at a later time?

Unfortunately, the software requires the applicant to complete the application process in one sitting.

Do I have to complete the entire application process for each position for which I'm applying?

Your online application will be retained in our database for 3 months. Please visit our website periodically to see if other positions have opened which may be of interest to you. If another library position becomes available for which you may wish to be considered, log in as a returning applicant, using the applicant PIN that you received from your previous application. The application will populate many of the fields for you as you complete the application.
