Watering Systems - Seed Library Event

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: High Prairie Library - 7035 Old Meridian Rd. at High Prairie Meeting Room

Successful gardening in our semi-arid region depends a lot on your choice of watering system. Join us for a workshop on small garden irrigation systems presented by Marc and Cathy Short.

MAKE @ East Open Hours

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at EA Makerspace

During Open Hours MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

Storytime

Books, activities, and fun for pre-schoolers (3-5 year olds).

Saturday Storytime

Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Childrens Story Room

Children ages 3 and up, with a favorite adult, experience stories through books, flannelboards, puppets, songs and activities. This program encourages emerging reading skills by engaging children with shapes, sounds, rhythm and rhyme in a playful environment.

Children's Literacy Center

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose-Children's Floor

Reading tutoring for elementary students. Registration with Children's Literacy Center is required.

LEGO Build

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Where: Cheyenne Mountain Library - 1785 S. 8th Street Suite 100 at Cheyenne Meeting Room

Come build a masterpiece! We’ll have oodles of LEGOs to play with. Kids of all ages welcome. No registration is required. Bring a camera so you can take pictures.

Educational Resource Center open 12 - 4 p.m.

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at Educational Resource Center

The ERC is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Amateur Painting Party!

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Where: Rockrimmon Library - 832 Village Center Drive at Rockrimmon Meeting Room

Amateur artists are invited to experiment with watercolors and acrylics at this fun and informal program. We’ll supply the brushes, paint, and paper; just bring yourself and your creativity!

Registration is required for this free program!

A registered parent must be present for all children under 12.

Make II Open Hours

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Make II (Messy Maker Space)

During Open Hours, Make II is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis. Patrons must be badged to use a machine during a separate appointment before being able to use the machines in open hours. To inquire about badging, please call 719-884-9800, x 6364.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. 9-11 year olds must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

Sewing Zoo

When: Saturday, March 25, 2017 - 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at EA Makerspace

Sew your own zoo at this fun and interactive program. We’ll supply fabric, a few basic animal patterns, and instructions to create your very own fuzzy friend.

Hand and/or machine sewing skills are required to participate. Ages 12 and up.

Art & Wine

Woodturning Demonstration

Don’t see a computer class offering what you need? SIGN UP for a 1-on-1 session! Topics can include: Mouse Basics; Computer/Windows Basics; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); Internet Basics and Email; Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Prezi, and Craigslist; Ereaders; and transferring digital photographs to a computer. A RESERVATION MUST BE MADE and the topic approved in advance. Sessions are 45 minutes long. Contact Cheyenne Mountain Library to set up an appointment: 633-6278.

Donuts and Westside Pioneer

Baby Time

Babies from birth to 12 months, with a favorite adult, enjoy songs, bouncing action rhymes, and sharing a book together. Each interactive session gives babies the opportunity to hear lots of language and play with other babies. Space is limited to 12 babies with accompanying adult.
