Penrose Library will host a book release and signing event for "Deep Roots, AspenPointe and Colorado Springs – Together Since 1875," from 3 - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21.
This book chronicles the organization’s growth from its humble beginnings as a traditional relief society in a storefront on Tejon Street, and takes readers on a journey that has made AspenPointe one of the leading behavioral health organizations in the Pikes Peak region.
While AspenPointe has gone through many changes over the years, its core mission remains the same: To aid individuals in crisis so that they may develop into strong and capable people who are able to reach their full potential and have rewarding lives.
The book was written by local author Eileen Welsome, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author, who will be available to answer questions about this historic relationship, and to sign copies of books.
Books will be sold at the event, in local stores, online, and at AspenPointe facilities.
