Knitting Kninjas

Come join other teens and learn different stitches, patterns, and techniques! Feel free to bring your own supplies and knitting projects, but we will also have yarn and needles to use. For beginners or experts, ages 12-18.
Homeschool Science Lab @East

AARP Mature Safe Driving Program

The nation's first and largest classroom driver refresher course specially designed for motorists age 50 and older. Upon successfully completing the course, graduates may present their course completion certificate to their insurance agents for a discount. A minimum of 10 students is required for the class to be held. Charge for the eight-hour course is $12 for members and $14 for non-members. Class size is limited and registration is required.

King James Bible: The Book that Changed the World

Film Screening- Join our month of events and see the thrilling true story of the most important manuscript in history. Acclaimed actor John Rhys-Davies visits landmarks, explains relics and leads us through a dark time in history to see the birth of the version of the Bible that would shape history and culture in ways that are still being felt. Pizza and drinks will be served.

Eat, drink and be merry (Luke 12:19) at this welcome of the nationally acclaimed display. This special reception is for: Manifold Greatness - The Creation and After-life of the King James Bible. Guests will enjoy a first look at the 14- panel exhibition that tells the story of origins, creation and impact of the Bible. The reception is rounded out with an art and photography display in the East gallery, a rare book exhibit including a page from the Gutenberg Bible plus delicious heavy hors doeuvres and other refreshments.

Manifold Greatness - "The Bard and the Bible"

Was Shakespeare involved in writing the Bible? Come and learn more about the links of the soaring language and particular figures of speech shared by Shakespeare and the King James translators. This program is a part of the Manifold Greatness Exhibit that tells the story of the origins, creation, and impact of the King James Bible, including its influence on English and American literature, and its multifaceted impact on culture and society to the present day.

Manifold Greatness - The Creation of the King James Bible

Come to our public discussion on the creation of the King James Bible. The presentation will include excerpts from documentaries, feature films and commentary from authors who have written about the entire process. The facilitator, Rev. Charles A. Sumners, Jr. has been a minister and video producer for over thirty-five years with experience in both religious and secular productions. He will bring a unique perspective to the movies and documentaries about the King James Bible was created.
