Find Your Roots - All Pikes Peak Reads

Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Teen Center (ETC) A

Throughout September and October, stop in to pick up the Find Your Roots form to discover some of your family history! Drop the completed form off at any PPLD library by October 31 to be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

Chinese Wishing Tree - All Pikes Peak Reads

When: Tuesday, September 01, 2015 - All Day
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Teen Center (ETC) B

Chinese Wishing Trees are a tradition for Chinese New Year. Wishes are traditionally on red ribbon or paper and hung from branches. Come into the East Teen Center to add your wish to our tree!

Though Chinese Wishing Trees are traditionally seen for the Chinese New Year, we are going to set one up to help us ring in our 2015 All Pikes Peak Reads. Come place a wish (or two) on the tree. This year our teen book is American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang.

Chinese Wishing Tree All Month - All Pikes Peak Reads

When: Tuesday, September 01, 2015 - All Day
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade

Though Chinese Wishing Trees are traditionally seen for the Chinese New Year, we are going to set one up to help us ring in our 2015 All Pikes Peak Reads. Come to the entrance at Penrose Library during the month of September and place a wish (or two) on the tree. This year our teen pick is American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang.

Teen Gaming Day

When: Tuesday, September 01, 2015 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Fountain Library - 230 S. Main Street at Fountain Meeting Room

Join us for teen gaming day at the Fountain Library.
Various games will be available to play, including games for Wii, Xbox 360 kinect,and laptops all games are rated teen and below. We even have low tech games to play.

Teen Advisory Board. Come score an hour of community service every month while developing plans for events and programs you'd like to see at Library 21c. Group meets in the Teen Zone.

Tween Twist Wednesday

When: Wednesday, September 02, 2015 - 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Fountain Library - 230 S. Main Street at Fountain Meeting Room

If you are between the ages of 9-12, join us the first Wednesday of every month! We will have a new activity or craft each session geared toward Tweens!

Teens On Laptops!

When: Wednesday, September 02, 2015 - 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library - 2418 West Pikes Peak at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Laptops are set aside for teen use only in the Community Room. Come on down and do homework, play games, play music, or just surf! Some days we will have wii or other special activities. Brought to you by OC3, our teen advisory council.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

Where: Monument Library - 1706 Lake Woodmoor Drive at Monument Meeting Room

7th through 10th graders get involved in planning programs and community service projects for your local library. It's fun, there's food and you can earn community service hours. Your leadership looks great on college applications!

Guys READ: A boys book club

"Books, Food, Danger"
The mission of Guys Read is to motivate boys to read by connecting them with materials they will want to read, in ways they like to read. Older teen guys match with young guys to promote reading and literacy. Join us for a rowdy book discussion, snacks and craft. Ages 9+. Contact Staff for more information. ccarter@ppld.org
