GED / HiSET / TASC classes

When: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Pine Room

This class will help adults without a high school diploma prepare to take the GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency exams. Registration is required. New students must attend GED/HiSET/TASC Orientation to register and take a placement test. For upcoming Orientation dates, regularly check: http://new.ppld.org/adult-education. 55+ Beginning Computer Class Series

When: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

Meeting for 2 class sessions, students will learn to hold, move, and click a computer mouse. They will become familiar with the different cursor icons, the parts of a computer, practice simple navigation in a windows environment, and learn how to enter information using the keyboard. This is a class for people who have never used a computer. Patron will be signing up for both classes.

Sewing Lab

When: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Aspen Room

Have a simple clothing repair or small sewing project you are working on? Drop in to our sewing lab to learn basic sewing skills and utilize our sewing machines! Limited supplies available

Tai Chi

When: Thursday, January 19, 2017 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Aspen Room

Join Master Tanisha and learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi in this free, hour long class.

Students will learn the basics of posture, strength, relaxation, movement and breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Master Tanisha is a 5th-degree Kung Fu Master and has 20 years of experience teaching Tai Chi.

Become familiar with advanced features of Microsoft Word such as: setting margins, inserting tables, columns, borders, footnotes, etc. Prerequisites: Introduction to Microsoft Word and Internet Basics, or have familiarity with the internet.

El Paso County Health and Human Services Outreach (DHS)
