Mental and Emotional Health Challenges for Seniors

This class, presented by Senior Reach, will help individuals learn how to recognize when a senior may be struggling with mental or emotional health issues by educating them on the warning signs of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in individuals over 60.

Senior Reach is a new program to Colorado Springs that provides support for the well-being, independence, and dignity of older adults through community education, mental health services, and connection to community resources.

Second Thursday Craft: English Paper Piecing Part II

When: Thursday, May 12, 2016 - 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The focus of our second session of English Paper Piecing is the 60 degree diamond. This is a versatile shape that can be used to form six pointed stars or the traditional Tumbling Blocks design, which appears three dimensional.
All paper piecing is an accurate, portable craft requiring little sewing experience. It's a great way to use up small scraps of fabric or can be used in a more formal setting.
All materials will be provided. Registration is required. Please talk to a staff member or register online at ppld.org/monument-library. (Registration opens one week before craft day.)
