The library accepts applications for positions that are listed and open.

AfterMath Tutors

Assist students of all ages with K-college-level math topics depending upon your skill and comfort level such as: fractions, decimals, percentages, pre- and Algebra 1&2, geometry, Trigonometry, pre-Calculus and Calculus. After-school hours during the school year.

Complete and return an AfterMath volunteer application where you wish to serve.

Holds Processors/Shelvers

Serve behind the scenes a few hours a week to assist staff with processing and transferring books patrons have requested. Vounteers will (tasks vary from branch to branch) locate, and retrieve books on the shelves, or empty bins, discharge items with a computer device, shelve materials on the HOLDS shelves or book truck, and/or place materials in bins to go to other libraries. Volunteers at Penrose Library and Mobile Library Services will have free parking!

Study Buddies

Teen volunteers – 13-17 - will help students in grades K – 5 with homework or reading practice.

  • Assist students with a range of elementary school homework topics including reading, English, history, science and math
