Spanish Conversation Group at East Library

Join our informal Spanish conversation group, including intermediate-advanced students and native speakers. It is not an instructional time and no English is spoken during the meetings. It is an opportunity to enjoy and practice speaking and learn casually from more experienced speakers. The group welcomes new participants as well as ideas for activities or topics of discussion.

Where: East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd.
When: Thursdays, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

I wonder if my daughter would be welcome to come even though she is beginning Spanish this year. I really want her to hear the language as much as possible before reading and studying it in order to get an ear for it. I think it will help her to be able to read the words and speak them correctly if she has had much experience hearing them first.

Thank you for your consideration,

Yes, your daughter would be welcome to attend! Between 1:30 and 3 pm participants don't speak English and the level is intermediate to advanced. Some participants just listen and then try a few phrases. Everyone is really supportive. We hope she can make it!

Are there classes offered through the library for beginning Spanish speakers? We thought we'd seen some offered at 21C but now can't find them.

Hi there. I'm afraid we do not have any classes for beginning Spanish speakers at this time. However, you could come to this class and listen and maybe try a few phrases (see the comment above yours). Hope this helps!
