Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out

Join us for our Virtual Read-Out!

Your words have power. Stand up to censorship and declare your literary freedoms by reading from a banned book or discussing censorship issues on camera!

Join Pikes Peak Library District in supporting freedom of speech with our Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out! There are several ways you can support our Read-Out. We would love to hear:

  • About your favorite banned/challenged book, and why it means so much to you! How would it make you feel if someone prevented you from reading the book?
  • You reading an excerpt from a banned/challenged book
  • Your personal story about a locally banned/challenged book
  • Your take on a promotional video for Banned Books Week!

All videos will be no more than 3 minutes long.

Bring your own book, or choose from our curated collection. Open to all ages. For a list of banned and challenged books through the years, please visit https://bannedbooksweek.org/
