Teens & Tweens MAKE@EA: Laser Cut Clocks

Where: East Library at Make @ East

This is a two part class occurring on 2/22 and 3/22 of 2018. Participants need to be able to attend both classes.

In February, we'll use the laser cutter to cut out our clocks and then we'll paint and decorate them as we please. Participants will actually attend either at 4:00pm, 4:30pm, 5:00pm or 5:30pm. We will send out an e-mail closer to the program date to determine which time works best for your family. Ages 9-18 only.

Then, in March, we'll add the electronic pieces so that we have functioning clocks. This will probably take ~45 minutes instead of the usual 90, so please plan accordingly.

Where: East Library at East Learning Lab

We'll be using Google's evaluated CS-First curriculum to teach the principles behind coding social media applications in Scratch. This curriculum is aimed at students ages 9-15, but ages 9-18 are welcome to participate. 16-18 year olds may find the curriculum to be too easy, but if they are completely new to coding, it is a great place to start. If you have never tried coding before, please attend coding club in January, or come to one of our Tech Thursday coding classes prior to starting the club in February.
