Laptop Lab

Where: Old Colorado City Library at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Library laptops are available for use in our downstairs meeting room. Library staff will be on hand either to assist with personal projects from job skills to Microsoft Office products, or provide practice materials on computer basics. No registration required, but limited to first 10 attendees. Call the library for more information.

Great Decisions Discussion Group

When: Wednesday, February 28, 2018 - 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Join us for the fourth year of this discussion group. Great Decisions is the largest discussion program on America’s role in world affairs. The program, developed by the Foreign Policy Association, involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book and meeting in a Discussion Group to watch the DVD and discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. Each year eight topics are chosen by a panel of experts.

OCC Art and Wine

When: Saturday, March 03, 2018 - 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Join us as fine jeweler Maria Battista demonstrates her techniques and shares her inspirations at the library before the group heads to the Hunter-Wolff Gallery for more examples and further insight. The event ends with a trip to The Sweet Elephant for complimentary wine tastings. Raffle tickets for more free items at The Sweet Elephant will be handed out following the demonstration. This event is only for those age 21 and up.

Monday Musings

Join your Westside neighbors to talk with local historian and author John Anderson, who was the 26th El Paso County Sheriff. He has written a book on the interesting career of this county's first sheriff, Rankin Scott Kelly. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a 50-minute slide presentation and talk by Anderson followed by a Q&A session and book signing for Anderson's recent works.

Family Craft Night

A different free craft for families to create each month. March's program is watercolor painting.
Check the events calendar to find out what we are making the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room. Children five and over, including teens, welcome with guardians/parents!

Stitch-Wits

Join us for a free movie every third Monday of the month (excluding holidays) geared toward mature viewers (ratings PG-13 and up) with FREE popcorn.
March's selection is Only The Brave, which is based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of elite firefighters who risked everything to protect a town from a historic wildfire. Teens welcome due to PG-13 rating.
