PPLD's makerspaces at Library 21c are great places for generating creativity, innovation, and learning. To foster such endeavors, PPLD has started a Maker/Artist in Residence program.

Each maker/artist has a 6-week contract. During that time, he/she works on a studio/lab project, and teaches classes at Library 21c, East Library, and two other PPLD locations.

If you are interested in dropping by and talking with our resident maker/artist, you can check our calendar for when he/she will be in Make for studio time. You can also sign up for one of the classes being offered.

Interested in becoming a maker/artist for PPLD in the future? Keep your eyes peeled for our next Call for Makers and Artists!

Maker/Artist Qualities:

  • Creativity
  • Skills to teach and share
  • Ability to introduce others to what being a maker or an artist is in the vast expanse of making
  • Techy people
  • Artsy people
  • Well-developed ideas for their studio project and classes that are detailed in their proposals and can be accommodated at multiple PPLD locations
  • A wide variety of different activities and skills from across the making spectrum

Thank you for your interest in the Maker in Residence program! We get all of our makers and artists through a Call that we hold usually 2-3 times a year. We currently don't have a Call for Makers open. We hope to have one in October, 2016. The process for applying, the application, and proposal requirements will all be posted on the website during the Call.
