Teen Movie: The Blind Side (PG-13)

When: Tuesday, September 27, 2016 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Tag

Come enjoy a free movie in TAG! We'll be watching "The Blind Side" which is rated PG-13. No registration required. For ages 12-18 only! For PG-13 movies, 12-year-olds must be accompanied by someone 13 – 18.

Movie starts at 4:00p.m., and is 2 hours and 9 minutes.

Rockrimmon Anime Club

Where: Rockrimmon Library - 832 Village Center Drive at Rockrimmon Meeting Room

Do you have a passion for Anime and Manga? Are you between the ages of 13 and 18? If so, join Rockrimmon’s Anime Club! Come and enjoy fun, prizes, food, manga, and much more with fellow Anime lovers. We meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. No registration required, just bring yourself, and your passions. Some Anime’s are rated PG-13 and have mature content.

Timewarp coloring for teens in the library

Teen can use the library supplies to color various pictures and book marks.

Mother/Daughter Book Club

When: Tuesday, September 27, 2016 - 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Childrens Story Room

For girls ages 9-12 and their mothers/mother figures. Registration is required and limited to 10 pairs (a mother with two daughters in this age range is still considered a "pair"). To register, call 531-6333 x1408.

Teen Dungeons and Dragons Club

When: Tuesday, September 27, 2016 - 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Teen Center (ETC) A & B

Join teens who are passionate about Dungeons and Dragons!

Program is for ages 12-18. Space is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required.

Pikes Peak Workforce Center Outreach Drop-in Lab

When: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

Representatives from Pikes Peak Workforce Center will be available to answer questions and help with job search and resumes.

AfterMath--Free Math Tutoring!

When: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Ent Conference Center

Is math homework getting you down? Are finals freaking you out? Do you need to brush up before the ACT, SAT, or GED? Our experienced math tutors can help you improve your grades and take the stress out of math.

Teen Arts and Crafts Open Studio

Where: Monument Library - 1706 Lake Woodmoor Drive at Monument Meeting Room

Hey Teens! On the last Wednesday of each month, come use our Meeting Room as a space to create! Supplies will be provided as available; however, feel free to bring whatever materials you are currently working with and use the space.

Teens on Laptops

When: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library - 2418 West Pikes Peak at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Laptops are set aside for teen use only in the Community Room. Come on down and do homework, play games and music, or just surf! Occasionally we will have the Wii, crafts, or other special activities. Brought to you by OC3, our teen advisory council.

COSPLAY GROUP

When: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Fountain Library - 230 S. Main Street at Fountain Meeting Room

Learn how to do costumes with little or no money! Our goal is to create a group to exchange ideas, art, and experiences with everybody that loves cosplay, comic-con, etc. We will also learn how to create masks, pins, and small items with 3-D printing.

Wonderful Wednesdays!: S.T.E.A.M. Activities For Ages 7-11: Paleontology

Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) in these interactive classes! Join us every fourth Wednesday of the month for a different S.T.E.A.M. activity. For ages 7-11. Registration is required.

Banned Books Week Virtual Read Out

September 25 to October 1 is national Banned Books Week. During this week we celebrate the Freedom to Read and access information. For this special event, we will record videos for the Virtual Read Out sponsored by the American Library Association.

APPR Teen Movie Project

When: Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library - 2418 West Pikes Peak at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Have you ever wanted to make your own movie? Here's your chance!

Teens will meet once per week to plan, film, and edit their film throughout September and October. Please see below for dates, times, and activities.

Week One - September 8
Time to meet the team! During this session, we'll introduce ourselves and begin to talk about the project. Discussion will include plot, filming locations, scripts, etc.

Week Two - September 15
Scripting and Blocking. Teens will develop a script for their project to assist in the filming process.

Week Three - September 22
Filming begins! Taking the ideas from the first session, we'll begin filming.

Week Four - September 29
Filming Continues.

Week Five - October 6
Last week of filming. We'll continue filming this week, getting our last shots in.

Week Six - October 13
Editing. Time to bring everything together with editing software. Teens will get the chance to edit their film and learn a little about the editing software available from PPLD.

Week Seven - October 20
Editing Continues.

Week Eight - October 27
Finishing Touches. Teens will finish polishing up their project and prepare for the premier!

PREMIER - October 29
Are you red carpet ready? Teens are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and bring their friends and family to watch the premier of their Halloween Movie Project!

Please note, any participating teens should plan to wear the same outfit for all filming days in order to maintain continuity.

Registration is required for this project.

Teen Drama: An Improv Workshop (Ages 12-18)

Are you dying to create your own TV reality show? Do your friends think your dramatic? Learn acting techniques in this interactive workshop! Discover your inner STAR! Practice some fun improv skills that can even help you in school. This workshop is led by Denise Gard. Denise has acted in numerous plays and melodramas. She is now a professional storyteller.

Finally Friday at Ruth Holley

Super Spy Escape the Room! You are trapped in a haunted mansion. Use all of your super spy skills and cunning to solve the puzzles left in each room and get out of the mansion before it's too late. Ages 7 through 12.

Mini Masterminds

Join Mini Masterminds at Rockrimmon Community Library and STEAM ahead of the crowd! Stretch your noggin and increase your processing power in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math! (For kids 6 to 12 years old.)

Teen Gaming

When: Saturday, October 01, 2016 - 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Where: Monument Library - 1706 Lake Woodmoor Drive at Monument Meeting Room

Join us in the meeting room for table top games, card games (like Superfight!) and Wii video games! We encourage attendants to bring any kind of game they would like to play. Please keep things age appropriate, nothing too adult. FOR TEENS: AGES 12-18

Teen Movie Project - Extra Session

The Teen Movie Project is in full swing! Registered teens will use this extra session to rehearse and film.

Tween Event -- Glow-in-the-Dark Jars!

Teens Talk Books

Do you love books? Come share your passion with other teens!

We'll have a different theme every month. Just read a book that fits with that theme and come and share it with us!

Snacks will be provided to participating teens.
