Manitou Teen and Tween Advisory Board

Have a great idea for a club? Want to help plan awesome programs and events? Come join the Manitou Teen Advisory Council and earn volunteer hours, meet other teens, gain leadership qualities and maybe even build your skills for applying for jobs, college applications and scholarships one day! All this, and snacks too!

Teen Writing Group

Can't wait to put your hands on a keyboard and write your story? Now the next step is sharing it with some other teens. Come join us for some exceptional writing, sharing, and discussions.

AfterMath - Free Math Tutoring - All Ages, All Levels

Is math homework getting you down? Are finals freaking you out? Do you need to brush up before the ACT, SAT, or GED? Our experienced math tutors can help you improve your grades and take the stress out of math.

No appointments - Drop in!

We will not have AfterMath in the case of holidays or school weather closures.

Tough Topics: Teen Suicide Prevention

When: Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Tag

Suicide prevention training developed for teens to identify the risk factors of suicide among peers and how to respond if someone seems suicidal. Resources to multiple organizations that can assist with immediate help will be available.

Teens and Tweens MAKE at East

When: Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at EA Makerspace

Every second and fourth Thursday of each month, we will MAKE something in the East Makerspace.

This month we'll be making Mardi Gras Masks!

The second Thursday is always a sewing project, and the fourth Thursday is always something different that may incorporate the laser cutter, 3D printer, or other tools available in the East Makerspace.

Teen Study Sessions

When: Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Where: Old Colorado City Library - 2418 West Pikes Peak at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Teens are invited down to the Old Colorado City Library Meeting Room to study and do homework. Healthy snacks will be provided and a library associate will be available to help teens find online resources if necessary.

Guided Meditation

When: Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Western Window Bay

Destress and relax Thursday evenings with our Guided Meditation program. Pillows and chairs will be set up, bring a mat if you'd like. Session includes music and guided and silent meditation with our presenter Gina. Make this free session an essential part of your week, you won't regret it.

Inside Out Youth Services

Inside/Out's mission is to educate, empower, and advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and questioning (LGBTIQ) youth. Inside/Out launched as a program for LGBTIQ youth in Colorado Springs in 1990. We are often the only safe space in the city for a queer or questioning young person. Library 21c will serve as a satellite location for Inside Out

East Coding Club

When: Friday, February 24, 2017 - 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at East Computer Lab

Have you ever wondered what makes computer programs run? Ever wanted to make a fun program or learn how to make a game?

Learn the basics of how to code!

In this club, teens and tweens can learn to code at their own pace as we explore different programs and concepts. We'll begin with a lesson series that teaches the basics of javascript. This club is self-guided, so everyone can learn at their own pace.

Ages 9-18 only.

Space is limited to the first 12 teens/tweens to show up, but registration is not required!

Finally Friday at Ruth Holley

Make some bendable ninja warriors in different colors. Ages 7 through 12.

Anime Club

When: Friday, February 24, 2017 - 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Ent Conference Center

For teens ages 12-18 who are interested in Anime! Meet others who share your interest and watch a different title each meeting. Prizes, food, and more! No registration required.
Some animes are rated PG-13, anyone 12 years old should be accompanied by a teen 13-18.

AfterMath in Teen Zone

Cosplay D.I.Y.

Learn how to do costumes with little or no money! Our goal is to create a group to exchange ideas, art, and experiences with everybody that loves cosplay, comic-con, etc.

Tween Event -- GAMES!

Come hang out and play cool games! Bring your friends and family and enjoy REAL (as opposed to virtual) games. We will have several to choose from. Would you enjoy a resounding game of Battleship? Learn how to play Dominoes? Or try your prowess at Jenga? Come have fun! Ages 9-12 only.

Sand Creek Chess Club and Tabletop Gaming

Teens and Tweens are invited to play chess as well as other board and card games.

Teens on Laptops

Come on down and do homework, play games and music, or just surf! Laptops are set aside for teen use only. Occasionally we will have games, crafts, snacks, or other special activities.
