Paid Parking:

  • Patrons will receive two hours of free parking each day by scanning a physical library card at the kiosks located near the main entrance of the upper lot and near the west entrance to the lower lot. Up to two additional hours of parking may be purchased at a time.
  • Penrose Library paid parking is through parking kiosks in both the upper and lower lots that accept credit card and coin payment.
  • The rate is $1.50 per hour.
  • The City of Colorado Springs enforces the meter compliance and writes tickets when in violation. PPLD has no authority to overturn a ticket that is issued by the city.
  • Penrose Library paid parking is available and enforced while the parking lots are open.

  • The gates to the Penrose Library parking lots are locked when the library is closed. Vehicles left in the parking lot after the gates are closed are subject to additional fees including retrieval and towing charges.

Friends of Penrose Library

 

Come by Penrose Library to pick up your materials. Park in a numbered designated parking spot and dial or text the phone number listed. Staff will answer and request your library card number, name, and parking spot number. After retrieving your items, staff will bring your items to your car. Staff will also be available just inside the front doors of the building to retrieve items for your convenience if you are visiting by foot or bike. You may also call ahead to have your holds ready when you arrive, same-day pick-up only. To schedule same-day hold pick-ups or to check on the availability of your holds, please call (719) 531-6333, x2552. Returns can be placed in the exterior book drops.
