Pikes Peak Library District is excited to open application submissions for the 2026 Rising Voices event. Rising Voices is a celebration of the many communities and cultures that make up the Pikes Peak region. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your culture with our community. Showcase your culture with a performance, educational presentation, or exhibit. Performances can include music, dance, or theater. Exhibits can include crafts, pre-packaged foods, games, and interactive activities.
Rising Voices will be held on Sat., Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Library 21c. 1175 Chapel Hills Drive. Timeline
- Applications will be accepted from June 22, through July 31, 2026.
- Selections will be made by August 21, 2026.
- Pikes Peak Library District will notify accepted performers, presenters, exhibits, and tables, no later than September 1, 2026.
Cultural Performances and Educational Cultural Presentations Expectations
By applying, you (performer/presenter) agree to deliver a performance/presentation and meet the following expectations of Pikes Peak Library District:
- Presentation/performance will start on time and last 20 minutes.
- The presenter/performer must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time.
- Performer/presenter will give a brief description of the cultural/historical significance of the performance/presentation in an entertaining and educational way. If possible, tie it into the Pikes Peak Region.
- If applicable, performer/presenter should involve the audience (teach dance steps, show instruments, etc. at the end of the performance).
- If applicable, performer/presenter will need to provide music on a flash drive or CD ahead of the event. Streaming services are prohibited, and Library staff cannot handle personal devices.
- If selected, the performer/presenter must sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and submit a 2026 W-9. In addition, the performer/presenter must sign a Photo Release Form.
- Honorarium – A check for $150 to the performer/presenter (one check per group/organization) will be provided on the day of the event.

Cultural Tables/Exhibitor Expectations
By applying, you (exhibitor) agree to meet the following expectations of Pikes Peak Library District.
- Table/Exhibit set up will be at 9 a.m., one hour before the event starts.
- Table/Exhibit should be available for the duration of the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- All tables/exhibits must have an adult (aged 18 +) present.
- Tables/exhibits are encouraged to offer engaging activities such as crafts or games.
- Tables/exhibits are the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. Library staff cannot help staff your table/exhibit. Please provide adequate coverage.
- No sales are allowed.
- All food must be pre-packaged and must not require a heat source or refrigeration. All food must follow the Colorado Department of Health & Environment Cottage Foods Act and the Cottage Food Checklist or the Colorado Retail Food Establishment Regulations
- No open flames.
- No glitter.
- Exhibitors will not be monetarily compensated.
- All exhibitors must sign a Photo Release Form.
