Monday Funday: Buttons

Every second and fourth Monday in the East Teen Center, we will be hosting an all day craft project. Today, we will use a button maker to make custom buttons! Come join us and create something awesome!

Word III Class

In this class, we will explore long form document formatting, styles and Tables of Contents.
Prerequisites: Word I

Video Editing Basics Using Premiere CC Class

When: Monday, July 25, 2016 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Petritz Learning Lab

For those new to video editing, this introductory editing class will get you up and running with Adobe Premiere CC. We will cover a range of topics from navigating the interface, importing assets, working with sequences and timelines, applying titles and effects, and exporting your finished edit.

Patrons 9-13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

1-on-1 Computer Session

Don’t see a computer class offering what you need? Sign up for a 1-on-1 session! Topics can include: Mouse Basics; Computer/Windows Basics; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); Internet Basics and Email; Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Prezi, and Craigslist; Ereaders; and transferring digital photographs to a computer. A reservation must be made and the topic approved in advance. Sessions are 45 minutes long. Contact Cheyenne Mountain Library to set up an appointment: 633-6278.

MAKE @ East Open Hours

During Open Hours MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis.

Mellow Monday--Yoga

Another manic Monday ahead? Start your day and week off right with Mellow Mondays, our weekly mind and body exercises to help you make it through the week. This week's exercise--Yoga!
Join us for an hour-long class in the Hatha Yoga style. This class is designed to give you a pretty good workout without being too difficult or demanding.
Participants should bring their own yoga mat if possible, along with a small towel, and water.
No registration is required for this free class.

Paper Crafting Class with Theresa Pingel and Jo Golden

If you've attended one of Theresa Pingel's and Jo Golden's paper crafting classes in the past, you know how much fun they are. Each participant will take home 2 finished projects. Beginners are welcome! All supplies are provided, including basic glue sticks, although if you have a preferred adhesive please bring it with you, and there is no charge, but you must register online at ppld.org or call 382-5347. (Must be 14 or older to attend.)

Maker Monday: Learn to Crochet

Learn to crochet at this Special Maker Session! Or are you stuck with your crochet pattern/project and need some pointers? Bring it along! Registration is suggested to make sure we have enough supplies.

Join our creative café! Enjoy coffee/tea and while making something with provided supplies (cards, sewing, jewelry, and more). Do you have a project you’ve been working on? Bring it along! Many supplies provided, no registration required, just drop by.

Exploring Mindfulness, Discovering Delight

Join instructor Joanna Bolek for an introduction to
the mindfulness and stress reduction practices
of meditation and mandala coloring. Open-entry/open exit classes (no registration required).

Joanna Bolek is a certified meditation instructor and art teacher. She has practiced meditation for over 30 years.

Up Your Game - Brain Training for teens aged 12-18, through simple movement and drawing exercises. Boosting left-right brain functions helps with focus and concentration. Makerbot 3D Printer Badging Class

Group badging for the Makerbot 3D Printers. After this training patrons will be "badged" to use the Makerbot 5th Generation and Makerbot Z18 3D printers during Open Hours. Walk-ins welcome if space allows.

GED / HiSET / TASC classes

This class will help adults without a high school diploma prepare to take the GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency exams. Registration is required. Maker in Residence: "Retro Cane" Polymer Clay

This class will explore the wonders of polymer clay. We will go over basics and create a "retro cane" figurine using a variety of tools and techniques. Must be at least 16 years of age. Registration is required.

Word II - 2013 Edition

Class Description: Builds on the basics learned in Word I. Learn additional formatting features such as: changing margins, fonts, and line spacing; insert and manipulate tables; spell check and thesaurus; headers and footers; using bullets and more.

Stitch-

Stitch-Wits welcomes all stitchers (knitters, crocheters, piecers, etc.)to come stitch in community. Monthly programs (show and tell, library information, swaps, celebrations, and more) add variety to the weekly schedule. Come as often/little as you wish.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Laptop Lab

Library laptops are available for use in our downstairs meeting room. Library staff will be on hand either to assist with personal projects (class work, to job skills to Microsoft Office products, Facebook, Craigslist and more) or we can provide practice materials on computer basics. Toddler Time

When: Tuesday, July 26, 2016 - 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Where: High Prairie Library - 7035 Old Meridian Rd. at High Prairie Meeting Room

One and two-year-old children, with a favorite adult, participate in nursery rhymes, music and movement, and listen to a few short books. Toddler Time builds on familiar experiences to introduce new vocabulary and word sounds in a lively atmosphere. (20 - 25 minutes)
