English as a Second Language (ESL)

For adults wanting to improve their workplace and every day English language skills. Classes provide instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Registration is required. MAKE @ East Open Hours

When: Monday, February 27, 2017 - 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at EA Makerspace

During Open Hours MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

AARP Tax-Aide

The AARP-supported TaxAide Program assists low and moderate income taxpayers with preparing and efiling personal income tax forms at no cost to our clients. Our tax preparers are trained and certified by the IRS. We have no age or income restrictions, and AARP membership is not required. We do specialize in doing returns for older tax filers. Some complex returns cannot be completed by our preparers, and clients may be referred to a paid professional preparer of their choice.

Paper Crafting Class with Theresa Pingel & Jo Golden

If you've attended one of Theresa Pingel's and Jo Golden's paper crafting classes in the past, you know how much fun they are. Each participant will take home 2 finished projects. Beginners are welcome! All supplies are provided, including basic glue sticks, although if you have a preferred adhesive please bring it with you, and there is no charge, but you must register online at ppld.org or call 382-5347. (Must be 14 or older to attend.)

Brain Booster

Join us for 6 weeks to exercise your "Body/Brain". We will explore many facets of helping your Brain have the best health ever. We will experience topics such as Brain Booster exercises, Acupressure techniques, EFT, Proper Hydration and Nutrition, Brain Games, and laughter for Brain/mood health. Class runs from 2/6-3/20, with NO CLASS on 2/20. Please consult your physician prior to participation in this program.

This presentation will examine the Battle of the Little Bighorn, a story that still haunts the American conscience even today. We will discuss the characters and events that shaped this epic confrontation that culminated on a dusty Montana hillside identified later to be remembered as "Custer's Last Stand".
