Food By The Book: Traveling Through Colorado's Wine Country

Paula Mitchell, author of Exploring Colorado Wineries, will present a brief history of Colorado’s wine industry and discuss the wines, ciders, and meads produced in Colorado. She will also give an overview of the six distinct wine regions of Colorado and highlight some of the wineries in each region as well as suggestions on how to explore and organize visiting the wineries.

Wired Weekend: Finch Robots!

Family Fun: Millibo Art Theatre presents Art Guffaw

Mr. Art Guffaw unravels the mysteries of fine art in a magical studio where the easels speak, the drawings come to life, and the paintings dance. With a little help from Van Gogh and Picasso, master clown Jim Jackson creates a circus of ART that inspires us to look at the world with the eyes of an artist.

How to create the illusion of depth in your paintings

We will use a limited palette in acrylic paints to learn the skill of color mixing and how to create both depth and luminosity in your work. Warning-it may lead to wanting to paint even more!

During Open Hours MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis.

Baby Time

When: Monday, September 26, 2016 - 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Childrens Room

Babies from birth to 12 months, with a favorite adult, enjoy songs, bouncing action rhymes, and sharing a book together. Each interactive session gives babies the opportunity to hear lots of language and play with other babies. Space is limited to 10 babies with accompanying adult.
(20 minutes + 20 minute playtime)

Paper Crafting Class with Theresa Pingel and Jo Golden

If you've attended one of Theresa Pingel's and Jo Golden's paper crafting classes in the past, you know how much fun they are. Each participant will take home 2 finished projects. Beginners are welcome! All supplies are provided, including basic glue sticks, although if you have a preferred adhesive please bring it with you, and there is no charge, but you must register online at ppld.org or call 382-5347. (Must be 14 or older to attend.)

Music and Movement for 2 and 3 year olds
