Yoga for Stress Management

Yoga for Stress Management - Learn to manage or relieve your stress through yoga. Join Shelly for an hour long yoga class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel. All experience levels welcome. Please consult your physician prior to participation in this program.

Upcycled Pet Toys

When: Wednesday, April 26, 2017 - 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at EA Makerspace

Stop by this month to make a new or upcycled toy for your favorite canine or feline friend, or bring in a well-loved toy in need of some TLC for new stuffing, squeakers, and repairs.

While supplies last. No registration is required. Ages 12 and up.

Speak English

Speak English is an informal English language conversation group for adults who speak some English. Each group meets once a week. Participation is free and no registration is necessary.

Great Decisions Discussion Group: Prospects for Afghanistan and Pakistan

Join us for the third year of this discussion group. Great Decisions is the largest discussion program on America’s role in world affairs. The program, developed by the Foreign Policy Association, involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book and meeting in a Discussion Group to watch the DVD and discuss the most critical global issues facing America today. Each year eight topics are chosen by a panel of experts.

WyldeLyfe Outdoor Club

Where: Monument Library - 1706 Lake Woodmoor Drive at Monument Meeting Room

WyldeLyfe is a new outdoor group in the Monument area. They have monthly outings to hike, rock climb, do ropes courses, and much more. This month they will be holding an educational class on day hiking, discussing equipment and preparation, and signing up interested attendees for a free excursion in May to test their skills. The event is free and open to the public.

Tai Chi

Join Master Tanisha and learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi in this free, hour long class.

Students will learn the basics of posture, strength, relaxation, movement and breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Master Tanisha is a 5th-degree Kung Fu Master and has 20 years of experience teaching Tai Chi.

Spanish Conversation Group

This is an informal Spanish conversation group, including intermediate-advanced students and native speakers. It is not an instructional time and no English is spoken during the meetings. It is an opportunity to enjoy and practice speaking and learn casually from more experienced speakers. The group welcomes new participants as well as ideas for activities or topics of discussion. We meet every Thursday from 1:30-3 pm.

Drawing and Painting Creativity Group

Photo-Editing with GIMP

Learn to edit your photos without paying the hefty price tag for professional software like Photoshop or Corel. GIMP is a free downloadable software you can use at home to accomplish most of your photo-editing needs.

In this class, we'll teach you the basics of how to adjust the lighting in your pictures, crop out unnecessary parts, remove red-eye, edit the foreground and background elements, and more.

This class is for advanced computer users who are very comfortable with computer navigation and have experience using a variety of software including Microsoft Office products. Best suited for students 13+; Ages 9-12 must be accompanied by an adult.

AfterMath - Free Math Tutoring - All Ages, All Levels

Exploring Mindfulness, Discovering Delight Meditation Series
