Black Lives Matter Activist Joining PPLD for Q&A Event

Event to close out 3-part series on community and police relations

Pikes Peak Library District is excited to share that author, activist, and educator Patrisse Cullors will join us for a moderated Q&A event on Thursday, Sept. 17.

This event is the third and final in a series of virtual community conversations on police and community relations that have taken place over the last few months.

Cullors is the author of the New York Times bestseller, When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir. For the last 20 years, Cullors has been on the frontlines of criminal justice reform. She also co-founded the Black Lives Matter Global Network in 2013 after sparking the viral Twitter hashtag. The movement has since expanded into an international organization with dozens of chapters around the world campaigning against anti-black racism.

Community Conversations at Pikes Peak Library District are monthly events that invite the public to discuss current events and issues impacting the Pikes Peak region. These events aim to promote civil dialogue and greater understanding of different perspectives.
