Four authors virtually visiting Library this fall

All Pikes Peak Reads, Mountain of Authors host four major writers

Book enthusiasts have plenty of reason to rejoice this fall, as Pikes Peak Library District prepares for four virtual author visits in a span of two months.

First up, PPLD will present an all-virtual version of Mountain of Authors by bringing in keynote speaker Barbara O’Neal for a virtual author visit on Saturday, Sept. 12. O’Neal, who also writes under the name of Barbara Samuel, is the Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestselling author of more than a dozen titles, including The Art of Inheriting Secrets, How to Bake a Perfect Life, and the #1 Kindle bestseller, When We Believed in Mermaids. O’Neal will give a brief presentation, and then open it up to a question and answer session. Learn more at ppld.org/MOA.

Then, All Pikes Peak Reads 2020 will bring in another three authors for virtual visits in October and November. APPR is Pikes Peak Library District's annual program geared towards celebrating literature, improving community connection, and fostering dialogue across social, cultural, and generational lines. This year’s selected titles explore themes of hope and resiliency, poignant subject matter as we navigate the pandemic individually and together as a community.

Our selected adult title is The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue. For young adults, we selected All the Impossible Things by Lindsay Lackey (a former PPLD employee!), and for children, The Unsung Hero of Birdsong, USA by Brenda Woods. Readers can check out the title for their age group in eBook, physical book, or audiobook format, then participate in the community’s largest book club by attending programs and our author visits.
