PPLD helps local creators independently publish material

Books, films, music: Indie Author Day helps local creators get materials out

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Pikes Peak Library District is hosting a day of learning, conversation, and action for local creators looking for ways to publish their materials.

Indie Author Day is all about helping locals with their own self-published independent content creation. The event will help locals get pointers on both publishing and marketing. The event is now in its third year, and previously was just focused on helping writers publish their graphic novels, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more. This year, for the first time, there will also be a panel on helping local musicians and filmmakers independently publish their material.

“The library is all about connecting our community to the resources they need to accomplish their goals,” said Heather Johnson, Adult Services Librarian at Pikes Peak Library District. “Indie Author Day is a great way for us to connect creators with local experts on independently publishing and marketing materials, to really get that content out there.”

Participation is completely free. Attendees can get questions answered and learn about indie publishing experiences from a variety of local experts. For more information on presenters and panels, visit https://ppld.librarymarket.com/events/indie-author-day-2018.
