COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) presents many options to engage people of all ages and interests across El Paso County. Here are some upcoming opportunities this month: 

 

30th Anniversary Shivers Concert Series Fall Concert

The Shivers Fund at PPLD celebrates 30 years of arts, culture, and fundraising for a cause with the 30th Anniversary Shivers Concert Series Fall Concert – An Evening of Inspirational Song and Dance. The evening will consist of song and dance performances paired with remarks by classical and jazz music legend and philanthropist Peggy Shivers and honored guests. Proceeds from these events help the Shivers Fund continue to support opportunities for our community to celebrate diversity, culture, and the arts.  

The event will be held at Packard Hall at Colorado College on Sun., Aug. 6 at 4 p.m., and a reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. During the reception, there will be book signings and participating artists will have art on display. Tickets are available in advance for purchase online or by phone (719) 531-6333, x2391 through Fri., Aug. 4 at noon. They will also be available for purchase with cash/check at the door.   

The program will feature musical performances by singer Deborah Anderson, the Velvet Hills Chorus, and others, as well as dance performances. Author Dr. Constance Batty and artist Bryan Lakey Sr. will speak as special guests.

 

Night at the Library Fundraising Event

The Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) Foundation Board of Directors is hosting Night at the Library, a premier fundraising event in celebration of the Foundation’s 20th Anniversary and $13M raised for PPLD since 2003. This inaugural fundraising event will be on Sat., Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Library 21C. Guests will enjoy special after-hours access to Library 21c and its first of its kind space that has been replicated by libraries worldwide. The memorable evening begins with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and a program. The event will continue to raise funds to support PPLD’s services, programs, and spaces. Tickets are available for purchase online.  

 

The Palmer Lake Concert Series returns to the Village Green this August

The popular Palmer Lake Library Village Green Concert Series returns to Pikes Peak Library District this August for three no-cost concerts celebrating summer. In the case of adverse weather conditions, a concert may be canceled.
