GED Prep Classes

Classes prepare students to take the four GED subject tests which are an alternative to a high school diploma. Classes are for adults aged 17 and older who have not earned a high school certification. Specific class schedule is dependent on class enrollment. This program is a hybrid class environment with both online and in-person components.

Fall Semester Orientation will occur in August and registration will open in July.


Class Dates

  • Fall Semester, August – December
    Orientation registration opens in July
  • Spring Semester, January – May
    Orientation registration opens in December

Offered Classes

Orientation is required.

  • Math
    Hybrid, instructor-led classes – students must attend 1 zoom class and 1 in-person class per week.
    • Zoom Classes
      Tue. & Thu. 4:30 - 6 p.m.
    • In-Person Classes
      Mon. & Wed. 5 - 7 p.m. at Ruth Holley Library
  • Reading
    Fully online, instructor-led classes.
    • Zoom Classes
      Mon. & Wed. 4:30 - 6 p.m.
  • Science & Social Studies
    Fully online and independent. No class meetings.

Requirements:

Attendees must:

  • Be age 17+
  • Attend both in-person and online classes each week
  • Study independently every week Attend orientation
  • Complete required testing
