Hello, I would like to sign my three children up for the backpacks please. Their ages are 9,8 and 3. Thank you
Jewel

People aren't seeing the link to click and reserve their pass, because the link is in very light green. Your webmaster should change the hyperlinked words "clicking here" to a much more visible color, and make them BOLD, also.

The link says unavailable, is this offer no longer going on? If so then the webmaster should take this info down to ease confusion.
Thank you

Hi there. You may have tried to access it while our Catalog is performing maintenance tasks in the early morning hours. Please try again perhaps at a different time. Thanks!

So I reserved my pack, which I think is a super wonderful idea...but I am 259th in the wait list! At a checkout rate of 1 week per patron, I will get a chance to get the pack in about 5 years. Are there plans to add more packs to shorten up the wait times?

Hi Tammy! Thank you for contacting the library! Unfortunately, we are not able to add more packs or passes to our circulating collection per our partnership with Colorado State Library and Colorado State Parks. However, State Parks are always available to visit for a fee ranging from $7-9 per vehicle daily, which funds the use of these areas (https://cpw.state.co.us/Documents/About/Reports/StatewideFactSheet.pdf). Check the website of the State Park you are interested in visiting for potential deals or discounts. We apologize for the long waiting period, but appreciate your support and patience. Have a wonderful summer, and please let us know if we can assist you with anything else!

i would love to have one of this backpacks, what do i need to do to get one? pleaseeeee....

This is a great idea! Since the wait list is so long is it possible to get electronic versions of the printed material, without the backpack, park pass and binoculars?
The park pass is reasonably priced and I already have binoculars. We can view items on our phone/tablet before the excursion and print any items we want.
Thanks for putting this program together!

We will look into this option but at this point, there are no e-materials available. That being said, this website has links to a lot of the materials covered in the backpack, so it may be a good starting place for the time being for e-materials: https://cpw.state.co.us/librarybackpack

Hello,
There are electronic versions of the Parks Brochure (31 pages) and Park Finder map on the Parks & Wildlife site (https://cpw.state.co.us/librarybackpack). We don't have access to ebook versions of the guides and other resources in the backpacks, but we do have a circulating print edition of the Colorado Wildlife Viewing Guide that can be checked out separately:

There are also other downloadable resources on the Parks & Wildlife site, such as Wildlife Discovery pages for kids (https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Pages/TR-WildlifeDiscovery.aspx) and an extensive collection of online videos.

Are the park passes temporary or do they last the entire year (from date of purchase)? Also, do all of the literature contained with the packs have to be returned, or do they repack with new when returned? Thanks!

The park passes that come in the Checkout Colorado packs last the entire year and have the expiration date listed on the front.
The literature that must be returned is listed on an item in the backpacks called About Checkout Colorado, as well as on the tag with the barcode. The items that must be returned as also numbered. If you are unsure about an item, please leave it in the backpack for other patrons to enjoy.
Let us know if you have anymore questions!

This is the BEST idea ever! It has so much information & a free pass! Thank you
