English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are for adults age 17 and older. Classes focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English. ESL classes are those with basic English speaking skills to high intermediate levels.
There is no charge for ESL classes at Pikes Peak Library District. Classes run for 15 weeks and are in-person with some online options. Students are expected to study 8-10 hours each week. Students must attend an orientation prior to registration. Registration for orientation is in December and July. You will see a link on this page when registration for orientation enrollment is open.
Our curriculum emphasizes practical communication in modern American English. Students not only learn grammar and vocabulary but also gain skills for daily conversations and navigating real-world situations.
