Device and Computer Help Drop-in Lab

For patrons with specific trouble shooting needs or help beyond the materials covered in other library computer classes. If the user just needs beginner instruction, sign them up for computer basics, internet basics, word, etc. Remind the patron to bring their device to the appointment if possible.

Tai Chi Basics

Begin your Tai Chi journey HERE with the Basics. Class is 45 minutes long. No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing. Everyone welcome. Learn from Philip Selva, Certified Tai Chi Instructor. Please consult your physician prior to participation in this program.

Toddler Time

When: Friday, April 20, 2018 - 10:30 AM - 10:55 AM
Where: Palmer Lake Library

One and two-year-old children, with a favorite adult, participate in nursery rhymes, music and movement, and listen to a few short books. Toddler Time builds on familiar experiences to introduce new vocabulary and word sounds in a lively atmosphere.

Introduction to Java Programming

In this workshop, we will cover the basics of Java classes, methods, and objects.

Registration is required. Ages 18+. Some computer programming knowledge recommended.

Beginning Vegetable Gardening

When: Saturday, April 21, 2018 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library at Penrose Carnegie Reading Room

You will learn from a Master Gardener how to plant seeds, how to determine if you have good soil for planting vegetables, what to do about pests, and how often to water in this dry, Colorado weather. This will be a hands-on demonstration, so get ready to play in the dirt! Please know this is geared toward beginners. If you already have a garden bed, feel free to just drop by to learn more about gardening. We will meet at the Green Team Urban Garden at the Penrose Library, located near the lower parking lot on West Pikes Peak Avenue. However, if the weather is bad, we will meet inside in the Bay Area. If you have access to any land, even a small patch in the grassy strip by the street - you can become an urban farmer! Registration required! Sponsored by the PPLD Green Team. Go Green with PPLD!
