PPLD seeks to generate creativity, innovation, and learning, as well as community connection. To foster these endeavors, PPLD has a Maker in Residence program.

To celebrate past successes and embrace new trends and possibilities, the Maker in Residence Program has been redeveloped to further inspire and empower making and creativity. The new Maker in Residence Program features two 10-week contracts, offering a Spring (March – May) and Fall (September – November) Residency. During these contract periods, the makers will work on large-scale community projects, and teach classes at multiple locations across El Paso County.

The 2020 Maker in Residence Program’s theme is 20/20 Visions:

It’s often said that hindsight is 20/20. As a maker, what does this mean to you? How do you reflect on past lessons, celebrate clarity, and seek new discoveries and growth?
