Resource Fair will Connect New and Expecting Parents with Needed Services

Bumps, Books, n’ Babies event aims to help parents succeed from pregnancy to parenthood

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The transitions involved in pregnancy, birth and parenthood can be tough to
manage. Fortunately, new and repeat parents throughout the Pikes Peak region don’t have to chart those
waters alone.

Pikes Peak Library District will host a Bumps, Books, n’ Babies resource fair on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event
will serve as a connector to local resources and services for those trying to conceive, expecting parents, and
parents of babies. Vendors include local groups and organizations that can help make the parenting journey
easier and give babies a bright beginning.

“There is so much to navigate when you’re expecting and raising a baby,” said SarahEllen Hickle, Family Place
Librarian for Pikes Peak Library District. “Many concerns we face can be alleviated after a quick consultation
with the right person – but only if you know what to ask, and who can answer it. The goal of this fair – and of
our library district – is to help people connect with what’s available for them right in our community.”

In addition to the vendors, the event will feature several mini-programs, including baby & me yoga; Q&A panels
on pregnancy and childbirth, baby care, and postpartum care; and a DIY baby toy craft station. Plus, families
can take maternity or family photos in the Library’s state-of-the-art video and photography studio.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring this needed event to our community. I can’t wait to see the positive impact it
will have for both new parents and those preparing to have another child,” Hickle said.
