Charles and Tauni Orndorff

PPLD's Makers in Residence for May/June 2018 were Charles and Tauni Orndorff. The Colorado Springs natives have been making costumes and props for over 15 years. Their skills include sewing, fabrication, 3D design, and much more. They are currently instructors at the Pikes Peak Makerspace where they teach resin casting, silicon molding, and vac-forming.

They taught Resin Casting with Silicon Molds classes throughout Pikes Peak Library District, as well as hosted open studio hours at Library 21c.

I am a master knitter designer teacher sewing quilting mastering sewiing machines for customers with sewing machines. I have done multiple wall art applique and taught others how to do these things. I have been a long arm quilter, have installed them and taught new users how to use their machines. I also go to peoples houses to trouble shoot problems they are having with their long arms, anything associated to these things would touch on everything I'm good at. I was a weaver for 12 years, have won awards in both knitting and weaving. My work has been shown in Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, Estes Park and Boulder. Have had my work juuried into competive shows. I love to make anything with fiber
